Marriage Preparation

Adult Formation and Spiritual Life

This ministry is used to provide couples with the best possible foundation for a Christian marriage. Marriage preparation is a two-fold ministry! It is for couples who have become newly engaged, and for couples who have been married for at least five years. The newly engaged are asked to attend an initial Sunday meeting to complete their focus and to receive general guidelines for weddings at St. Mary Immaculate. The couple will then be asked to attend subsequent once per month meetings; as their schedule and work hours permit. These meetings are a mandatory requirement. The couple is asked to bring a check for $150.00.

The second layer of ministry is those couples who are interested in sharing the experience of their marriage bond with an engaged couple. This can be a very enriching and rewarding experience to pass on knowledge of the marriage sacrament to those who are seeking marriage.

Attend Diocesan semi-annual training meeting

Do “three” two-hour meetings with an engaged couple; usually 4 to 6 per year.
