FALL 2017

September 10

Fall Bible Study Begins:
The Book of Revelation & the Mass

Facilitated by Mary Michalski

‚ÄčWe will start our study with a review of Dr. Scott Hahn’s book: The Lamb’s Supper, The Mass as Heaven on Earth. Dr. Hahn was a Presbyterian Minister who became a devout Catholic, Theologian and Professor. We will learn how the Book of Revelation relates to the Mass and the messages John saw in a vision while on the isle of Patmos.  You will never attend Mass the same way again as your eyes, hearts, and minds will be open to a greater understanding of the Mass as not only a celebration of Jesus’ last supper, His presence in the Eucharist, but of the heavenly glory that is to come!

Sessions will be held Sundays 9-10:30 AM beginning September 10 &
Mondays 7-8:30 PM beginning September 11

RCIA Begins

Do you know someone interested in becoming Catholic or learning more about our faith?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the sacramental process in which individuals enter into an extended period of formation.  The community ritually celebrates the conversion of these individuals at various points on the journey, culminating with the celebration of baptism, confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.  Following this, there is a period to help the ne

wly initiated to live the commitment the made: lives of justice, service and charity as witnesses of the reign of God.

RCIA is open to the unbaptized, or those who are seeking to receive First Eucharist or Confirmation.  Please call 815-436-2651 ext. 889 for more info.

Submit Scripture Reflections for

Parishioner Advent Reflection Book

We will again be publishing a parishioner advent reflection book! Simply read the readings for one or more days during Advent and submit a short (no more than 250 word) reflection on one or all of the readings- the reflections should simply answer the question “what do these readings say to me and my life?”  Reflections are due November 1, 2017.  Each reflection will be reviewed and then we will choose one for each day to be published in the book and distributed to our parishioners during Advent 2017! You can find a list of readings for each day of Advent HERE.

Please submit your reflections to eburt@smip.orgAll ages are welcome to submit!
