Crash Course in Catholicism

Crash Course in Catholicism

Starting October 13, Pope Francis is inviting each of us to rediscover the missionary dimension of our faith in Jesus Christ.  Our life and faith in Jesus is not meant to be held privately, but to be shared freely with others. We hope to do that boldly and faithfully at St. Mary Immaculate Parish by inviting all our parishioners, neighbors and friends to a CRASH COURSE IN CATHOLICISM.

What:

A homily series in which the priests and deacons will be using the homily time to address the basics and foundations of our Catholic faith.

Our upcoming topics include:

Connecting with God | The Power of Prayer
Sharing Good News | Everyday Discipleship
What happens when we die? | The End Times

When:

The weekends of October 20, 27, and November 3.

What else:

Time to gather to answer questions of our faith will be available after each Mass. Special resources will be a part of the weekly bulletin to expound on the homily and address the unanswered questions.  We pray it will be a time for many people to get back on track with God.

Be a host!

We need your help in various aspects of hosting this Crash Course in Catholicism

─ facilitate a 30-minute discussion after a Mass on at least one of those weekends,

─ welcome those coming to St. Mary Immaculate for the first time or are returning to the Church by standing at the welcome table in the narthex before Mass to greet people & answer their questions. (info sheets provided for both of these hosting opportunities!)

Pray!

We need everyone to pray for the success of this mission to bring God’s people closer to His love and to invite friends, family and neighbors to join us for this Crash Course in Catholicism.  Nothing beats a personal invitation to encourage people to come, especially an invitation to have them come with you.  Please think about and pray over whom you can invite to join you for this Crash Course.
