Parenting Playbook: For Dads

This interactive presentation is to help provide dads with a new understanding, and practical tools to be a game changer in the lives of your families.  It requires a well thought out plan with practical strategies, simple to follow, based on both clinical and biblical principles and an understanding of Gods design for you, your parenting and your childs/family’s needs.

We will focus on:

  • the importance of Team Parents and how a united front will stand strong even against the most difficult child.
  • The goal/role of discipline vs the need for punishment and when to apply.  The importance of understanding the difference between symptom and problem and the impact is has upon your disciplinary methods and consequences.
  • The Importance of Good Communication & how to talk with your children in a way they will listen!  How strengthening your relationship with your children impacts and lessens your need for rules! 
  • The three primary parenting styles and which style works best.  Ending with the need for Understanding your child’s deeper emotional needs and the roles each parent plays and the impact it will have on your daily interactions with your children.

Presenter: Gregory Rodriguez, LCPC Gregory has dedicated his life to working with men and the challenges we face as men, fathers and husbands. Married with five children and resides in Plainfield.  He has been a parishioner at St. Mary Immaculate since 2000 and part of the music ministry team, playing at the 6:00 o’clock contemporary service. He has spoken at men’s conferences, churches and retreats. Greg has several published articles, started a blog, Dad2Dads as well as currently looking to publish his first book this year. Greg’s goal is to empower and equip all men who desire to become the Godly man, father and husband God created us to be!
