CCW Happenings

The last meeting for the 2023-2024 season was held on May 2nd.  The ladies started with Mass in Cana Hall. Mary Kay Bollacker, as part of the honor of being Woman of the Year, crowned Mary. After Mass concluded, Father Pat installed the new officers. Being installed for another term was Grace Blaszak as President and Debbie Shimek as Vice President. Susan Gutierrez as Secretary, replacing Maggie Redman and Michele Bancroft as Treasurer, replacing Paula Eggert. We thank these ladies and all the other ladies who have served on committees or just pitched in and helped.

After Mass, a beautiful spread of sandwiches, salads and desserts were enjoyed by the attendees in the Faith Sharing/Harvester Rooms. A short meeting concluded the events for the day.

We look forward to seeing people at the Block Party on June 9th where we will have bakery items for sale. Our first meeting of the 2024-2025 season will be Thursday, September 5th. We look forward to another season of fellowship, faith-building, service, education and Christian growth!

For additional information, please contact Grace Blaszak at 815-254-7078 or gblaszak@sbcglobal.net

St Mary’s Church – Special Appeal – Painting and Pews

We certainly hope that the detail provided in the past 5 weeks by Cathy Douglass has been helpful in understanding the painstaking detail we have gone through to make certain the church interior of St Mary Immaculate Parish will be both respectful and spiritually enlightening.

Finally, the last piece in this summer work is the refinishing of the pews. Ratigan –Schottler Manufacturing out of Nebraska is going to carefully remove our pews, take them to their shop in Nebraska and gently refinish them and replace the kneelers while the interior of the church is being transformed. Here is a sample of the wood stain and kneeler color that will be the finishing touch to our summer work.
